French Cellar was born from the vision of three friends, brought together by their shared love for l’art de vivre à la française.

Thomas, originally from France, is a natural-born restaurateur with extensive experience in the French wine industry. After years of promoting l’art de vivre in Germany, he has now settled in Oakham, eager to share that same passion through this new project. As the driving force behind French Cellar, he takes a hands-on approach to turning their vision into reality.

Patrick, a Frenchman with a deep appreciation for England, has called Rutland home for over a decade. As a professional genealogist, he is the cornerstone of the venture, driven by his passion for French gastronomy.

Nitesh, the Englishman of the trio, is an entrepreneur based in Oakham, with offices in Uppingham. A devoted admirer of French culture and a true bon vivant, he brings creativity and innovation to the team, inspired by his love for French wine.

In addition to the founding trio, Jean-Christophe and Sam Cavaillé has joined the venture, bringing invaluable expertise to its international expansion. As the third and fourth generation at the helm of the family business, they are committed to developing Maison Cavaillé on a global scale. With his deep knowledge of the wine industry and strategic vision, he plays a crucial role in driving French Cellar’s growth and strengthening its presence in the export market.

Together, they combine expertise, creativity, and a deep appreciation for fine wine and French culture, making French Cellar a true celebration of savoir-faire.
